Most if not all reverse look up sites charge for full information. Many offer a $1 dollar 5 or 7 day trial, but you need to remember to cancel or they will likely automatically bill your credit card. You might be able to find one with free basic info, that includes name/address. Search cell phone reverse look up. Disregard if you have already gone this route. Good luck.

You can try the reverse lookup in Canada411.ca

Sometimes it can give you who it is and sometimes only that it is a cell phone registered in Edmonton and sometimes nothing.

Doesn't cost anything

The cheapo lookup sites are mostly scams looking to get your charge card number. The good legit ones are quite expensive.

Just call the number if you are that curious, far and away the cheapest option and there is no downside or risk.

did you figure out who the cell provider is? From there you need to ask around for someone who works at a cellular retailer. They can typically get into the account with little info.

Most of the time I can find the number if I'm diligent, they have a Kijiji listing, work phone, coach and their number is listed on the minutes, etc. The one time I really wanted to know who it was and couldn't find it, I simply called. If you are hesitant to call, you could call from a pay phone, work phone, borrow a phone, etc. and see if it goes to voicemail where they have left their name, if they answer (and for reasons unknown to me, you still don't want to say who you are) ask for Don, Don's not there, "oh, I'm sorry, is this 403-350-3555? Yes. My message was a bit garbled, it could have been Dawn, may I ask who I'm speaking too? Frank. Ah, definitely wasn't Frank, sorry for bothering you. Or, just hang up and call again. If you hang up enough, it will eventually go to VM.

Or you could text.

Ex-wife, don't want her to know you're stalking her?

Most new phones have a feature to block your number showing up when you call someone else. Just turn that on, give them a call. Or just wait and see if they call back again. Maybe it was just a misdialed number.

I get a bunch of scam calls that spoof the number to have the same first six digits as my number. Once would be a coincidence but I've had several.

Phone the number from a pay phone and say "did you order Chinese food" in your best accent might give you some idea of who they are or borrow a buddy's cell.

Keep in mind that spoofing a phone number is a trivial exercise.

"Hey there. How you doing? I have your number on my phone and I don't have a dang clue who this number is. Can I be so bold as to ask who you are?
You likely just pocket dialed me, but I wouldn't want to miss an important call.
Thanks so much."

Same here, but being that my cell is for my own service company I answer all calls. I do have suspicion when the first 6 numbers match, but I didn’t need any confirmation when one incoming call was supposedly from my very phone whose number was being dialed.....

When someones number comes up I don't recognize I just call em back and ask who they are . unless it's out of the province or the country in which case it's likely a scam and then I don't bother.
Usually they say ."oh I didn't call you" or "sorry I dialed you by accident".I keep hoping it's a lawyer from a rich uncle that left me in his will

If the number isn't in my contacts or I know who it is I'm not answering.
I don't know and don't care. If its important they will leave a message or call back.
Sometimes I answer and call 100 times a day. I haven't got time to concern myself with a wrong number or some weirdo.

Get a "burner" phone from 7-11, good for following up on unknown phone numbers and booking hookers

I was wondering about that, I figured you'd have had ways to accomplish that in your past career, but I guess not having access to such computer systems anymore makes it more challenging.

I did a hundred favours, but I always have trouble ASKING a favour...that’s my problem.

And I think guys/gals could get into doo-doo for stuff like that nowadays so I dont put anyone in jeopardy. Im bulletproof, they’re not.
