Default RIP -Gord Kennedy/West Winds flyshop

Heard he passed away on the weekend. I really enjoyed visiting Westwinds and found Gord very helpful. He was a strong proponent of the highly under rated Thomas and Thomas rods and a wealth of experience in Saltwater fly fishing world. Big loss to the fly fishing industry.

I found out this afternoon after just passing by his shop. Gord might have come across as a grumpy curmudgeon to some but we saw eye to eye on a lot of fishing topics, and his personality just kind of grows on you. I'm gonna miss my monthly chats at his counter.

Rest in Peace ol buddy.

Sad to hear. Gord was always my go-to-guy for advice before heading out to Belize for flats fish. The man was a permit guru. He will be missed.
RIP

This is very sad to hear. Although I didn't shop there often, I did enjoy the conversations and he is one of only a very small handful of people in the province who had the immense knowledge on trout behaviour, hatches, etc. Going to miss you buddy.

Had more than a few good conversations with him on hunting and fishing subjects, and quite enjoyed talking to him over the years. He was a good guy.

This is very sad news.

I really enjoyed his shop. I'm not sure if Gord ever knew what to make of me, but I sure liked him.
