Just curious if anyone has any recent pics or stories about rainbows in swan lake. Heading out in a couple weeks and want to know how excited I should be.....

It's a stocked pond, I wouldn't get excited at all a few rainbows over 20" there, but that's about it a bunch of drink fish overcrowded both on shore and on the water...ya I wouldn't drive more than a hour for that kind of fishing because it can be found everywhere you go...

I wouldn't be to excited unless your a fly fisherman. This time of year you want to be low and slow close to the bottom. The bait guys might still be doing ok on new stocked fish. The new stockers will take spinners/spoons if your trolling and I think they put 30k a year in there so you should get a few. The lake will be warm with lots of algae now.

The lake ran low on oxygen a couple three summers ago and lost most of the bigger fish, but there is some 5-6 lbers around still. Not sure if it will grow the 8-9 it used to with the amount they stock it.
