Looks like a gooder! My son brought a couple litres of this back from Munich when he was there a couple years ago, and I dearly like to track some down in Alberta. My favorite beer!

I heard about this beer made at the westvleteren abbey while in Belgium and drove a couple hours to get to the abbey...it was closed. Back in England I phoned every Monday (?) to try and reserve a case, I called hundreds of times, every Monday for months and couldn't get through. Finally I drove back to the abbey, through France so I could eat and drink a little on the way and they were open.
The abbey has a restaurant where they serve home made Hanm, home made cheese, on homemade bread with their beer. One of the finest meals I've ever had, simple but perfection in every item. At 12% I could only have one beer and still be able to drive but I could have had more....many more. When you go to the restaurant you can buy a six pack of beer, my wife and I each got one of course and treated each bottle like treasure.

I was in Superstore liquor this morning in Lloyd, the Lucky was $30 for 24 cans and Pilsner was $1.50 more.
I think I will find the money for the pilsner.

I have a bunch of the Westvleteren 12 and a handful of the 8 in my basement right now - special occasion only. I spent some time this past spring working in Brussels so I made the trip out to the abbey (In de Vrede) a few times. I packed those bottles with so much care for the journey home and didn't lose a single one. Seriously good beer

A local store where we do our whisky tastings must have me on their preferred customer list by now, because i called, they ordered, and a flat should be here next week. It is very good bier!

Hooligan Pilsner
Up until about a month ago, I was never a big fan of pilsner beers. All that changed when I tried 'Hooligan Pilsner',
made by the Nelson Brewing Company, in Nelson BC.
Give it a try!

Has anyone tried blue ribbon beer? Costco sells it for $28 a flat. I was tempted to give it a try last time I was there. I ended up grabbing a 18 pack of twisted tea for $36. Beer is expensive!

Pabst blue ribbon! It is a staple for camping in my family, I really don't mind it as a budget beer. But another honourable mention is the open road brown ale by Troubled Monk in red deer. Beautiful full bodied beer that goes great with a nice elk steak and potatoes...

I've really been into Two Sergeants Brewing in Fort Sask. They do a stout that's amazing. The bitter is a close second. Not for the faint of heart though. Lots of flavour.
Russels is good too. Try the Wee Angry Scotch Ale. Or the bitter.

This company has some good ones. Lots I haven't tried, but would like to.
Unsure about the one named "dirty tackle", however...

When I "Drink for effect", whatever's on sale. Have tried enough IPAs that most of them taste the same and are over-hopped anyway.(for me). Our local jar store has lots of varieties and I tend to try them all. I still like Guinness, Moretti, Stella, Dos Equis, Beck's .............
