Default Ram River Public Survey

Some of you may have already seen this but I got the email yesterday about a survey targeted for just the Ram river system.

The link:

https://talkaep.alberta.ca/north-cen...-public-survey

If you haven't already, I encourage for anyone to take the survey.

That has been the theme with these surveys although I thought this one was actually the most straight forward one of the bunch...

Imo Zones 1 and 3 should be option 2, sustainable harvest. Which is practically the same as it currently is(the only difference being that the size limit would increase from 30 to 35 cm upstream of Ram Falls).

It would be a shame if they open up zone 2 to retention so that gets a big vote for trophy option from me. Means it would remain C&R as it currently is.

I wish they gave some reasoning as to why they have made these proposals. A survey like this pretty much just becomes a ****ing match between the C&R and keep crowd to see which one votes more... I wish fisheries would be a little more intelligent about this and realize that the way things are now is actually pretty good allowing a mixture of trophy fish and keeper fish if you do the work to get them. Imo this shouldn't have even been a survey, unless the trend is going to now be to put a survey out for every single regulation change but I doubt that will be the case.

As mentioned I thought this one was straight forward. The first survey I thought required more reading as there were some tricky worded questions on it. I also agree that opening Zone 2 would be a shame. There are some very nice fish in there and would like to see it stay that way. Taken a lot of time to get fish of that quality.
