Default Fishing in Victoria ....in Feb.

Decided to go to Victoria for a week or so ....any angling to be had ,this time

You can go after winter chinook and the halibut season has opened as of February.1. Should be able to get some good halibut fishing in close to shore 10-20 min run.

I think the windchill was in the mid -30 s when we got on the plane
This AM ....one hour later plus 8 sun and cloud ...Just had brunch Fishermans wharf ....checking out the boats .....halibut are goin pretty good ....
So likely will spend a day...Fisherman guy had some suggestions....
Said Mocha Coffee great spot , just so happens to be across the street..
You can't see your breath...

Glad you're enjoying yourself Winch, and took me up on my suggestion for a Mocha Java.

Vic at this time of year is fantastic; Alberta is frozen solid, and there's green grass and flowers on the island.

Taking a bunch of kids to the Saanich Valentine's day Water Polo Tournament.

Last year I was watching a landscaper planting flowers and I went up to him and said:" How can I buy these flowers in June if you insist on planting them here in February?". He burst out laughing and asked if I was from Manitoba also!

Yah, good thing there are no jobs there or there would be no one living on the prairies.

I think you would be on the verge of one of the winter steelhead runs if you wanted to fish inland.

Go catch some big bass. Elk lake, Langford lake, sea run cutts along the gorge water way. Guys are catching lots of springs along the breakwater nothing to big though.
