I was out there a year ago (family day) and managed 1 through the ice with a jighead and marlbou jgging it pretty rapidly but only moving it 2 or 3 inches.

Seen alot of fish as the water was clear and fairly shallow but only managed the one.

Thick ice...lots of snow...means increased fish kills. That is a shallow lake. How thick was the ice and how much snow was on it?

Dunno what up with the vat. I've been there twice, seen some big fishies, but couldn't get anything to bite.

Every time I've been out there we've had plenty of company though.

Last time I was out there, the ice was little over a foot thick, and all the snow was blowing off the ice.

Been there a couple of times, and the one time there must have been 40 people on the ice and no one caught a thing. I didn't even see one fish swimming around. Most people packed up and left, I am worried that it died this winter.

Default You're seeing fish??

If I wuz seeing fish I'd be OK. But you guys are seeing fish regularly?
That's an OK sign.
The ice is thick 1.5 feet at least! Lots of vehicle tracks on it.... heck I even drove on it (but not on the s/w part where the spring is).

If there's fish they should be able to be caughjt. I am a bit concerned about winterkill though.

perhaps I'll try it next weekend.
