Default I think I would go running.

A buddy sent this to me a couple of days ago, not sure if it has been posted so I thought I would share.

Head shot and a broken jaw. Sad.

For those that don't know: any animal with closed eyes is NOT dead.

Exactly....even if its eye is open it might not be dead....poke it in the eye, if the eyes closes there is still brain activity as that is an involuntary reaction...

Absolutely correct...... shot with too small a caliber maybe, but why he didn't put another one into it when he noticed it was breathing is beyond me......makes me sick to my stomach to contemplate what that animal went through before it died,,,,, and It did for sure.......if he did not retrieve it right away........

I hope at the min. he learned something from his experience

Scared me half to death. I had a buddy shoot a cow elk with a 300 WBy mag this year. Good vital shot. It was 5-7 min before they made it to her. She was def expired or so we thought. We they got there she hoped up stood for 2 seconds and fell over on here other side. We called it the poltergeist elk.
