Default Pembina Provincial Park Fishing

Hey all,

Has anyone recently (within last year or so) fished the Pembina River at or around the provincial campground? If so how was your success. Any tips or suggestions (lures, areas to avoid)? We're planning a trip for mid June.

Cheers,
Rob

Anyone with some feedback on this area? So close to Edmonton I'm sure someone has been here?

I tried last year in the summer but it was really low so it wasn't great. A co worker went tubing on the weekend and said it was still quite low in some parts so you may have to try farther up or be willing to go for a hike.

Were there last year, impossible with how low water is and all the rocks--all I did was snag and break my favorite rod---bobbers for sure with a walleye rig only way

You have to find a hole with some depth to it, use cheap rubber bodied jigs as there is lots of snags and you will lose hooks. Fishing is better in the fall, if you find them there will be lots in a school.

Look on google maps in satellite view at the pembina river around the park. You can see the shallow and deep spots. Deep might not be that deep too.

Be bear smart. Last year F&W had to deal with a grizzly near Entwistle. Highly unlikely to encounter a grizz but possible.
