Grew up at CFB Moose Jaw (now 15 wing)
Got to see them practice/perform almost daily.
Dads friends were the techs.
Never gets old.
Moose Jaw used to have the best air show, and as base rats we got access to most of the planes and guys on preview Thursday.
Sat in a stealth, rode in a C5 and many other special opportunties.
If you ever get the chance to see the Blue Angles, they also put on an excellent display.

I think back in the day the Tudor was used as a trainer flown by every trainee on their way to get their “wings”. I know our son flew one in Moosejaw. They are surprisingly small and the cockpit is claustrophobic. About time we spent some money on upgrading these pretty little featherless birds of flight. Great pics, and thanks for sharing.

I was posted to MJ from 1975 to 1980. I remember the year when they wore baby blue colored flying suits and took a lot of ribbing. They looked like they bought them from Tiny Tots store. They went back to red the following season.
There were some great airshows during that period. I remember the base commander saying that the Blue Angels were too fast in that there was a waiting period while they turned around and came back into the public eye. Whereas the Snowbirds being slower, were always in view and that one could set music to them.
Ah! The good old days, gone forever. MJ was my most favorite posting.

Snowbirds
It's nice to see comments however I would like to point out a spelling mistake.
The CT 114 Tudor does not exist as it is spelled "TUTOR".

I'm pretty sure we used to use them for air defense training. Not the snowbirds but t33's. They'd pull a target and we'd shoot at it with the 57mm and the old days the 3"/50 and 3"/70. I remember one time we shot the tow wire. Scared the hell out of the pilot. Lol. The 3"70's and 50's were kinda crap shoot if they'd fire or not.

Awesome pictures. I watched them from my place as well. Made the place shake on their low overpasses.

I was using a Cannon 7D with a 100 x 400. We lucked out a bit on the location as they were either coming right at us or passing directly overhead. The one miss was I should have taken a video of the RAF dog fight tribute simulation at the end -- very cool and I understand that it is only being done for this year.

They don't do badly, considering the planes belong in museums. Another one of those defense items out politicians have been dragging their butts on.

If you ever get the chance to see the F22 fly in an airshow you will completely beamazed at what this aircraft can do. Watched it Friday as they went through the motions up close and personal, then Saturday and will today again.
It was the only aircraft that stopped seasoned pilots in thier tracks and left them shaking their heads in disbelief as to this aircrafts capability.
