Default .401 caliber rifles

Has anybody seen many of these around. Been looking for one for a few years now with little luck and starting to give up. Are they really that scarce? I have this (wife calls it stupid ) hobby. I am buying a rifle to fit all the the ammo I got inherited to me. I'm down to the .401 and a .577.....but I'm holding out for a really nice .577 so I need to save more pennies for that one LOL.

So simply put....am I dreaming of finding a 401 or is it possible.

Thanks!!

You mean one of those Remington auto loaders from the early part of the century? I think all I've ever seen is one and it was in pretty lousy shape. There was a .35? version as well.

Remington never made a 401 - you are thinking of Winchester (Model 1910)
P&S has one for sale

My error. Might watch the Haynes sales to see if one comes along.
