Default Spray Lake On Fri..

We had a great day A Spray on Fri. There is mega snow out there still and plenty of ice , the auger just made it through. It was one of the few days where the weather was fantastic up there. The fishing could have been better "for me" We had like 2 1/4 fish all day. Whats a 1/4 fish you ask... Well one look at Walleyedeitz's photo and you will know. How ever I did learn one thing. ALWAYS TIE DOWN YOUR SHACK I will have a vid posted soon of a 45 year old man running after his shack rolling down the ice. But I have got to give him credit the old bird caught it. All in all it was a great day with even better company. Once again this forum has puled through with some awesome guys. I had a wicked hard water season and it was thanks in part to all of the members I have had the pleasure to fish with this year I thank you all. And wish you the best on open water.

Nice pics jts1, looks like you had a good day. The 1/4 fish that Dietz is holding is bigger then his pike from Clear Lake ( you should be proud of a fish that big - it's harder to catch them that size ). Glad you had a good time while I busted my hump at the gun show.

Highlight of my season!!! And quite the workout on the old ticker. I wonder if the other three had as good a day as the happy six. They were nowhere to be seen on the drive down. Must have limited out.
That is probably my last go at Spray, as least for hard water fishing. 750 kms is a long way to drive to get skunked.lol. I'm glad it happened with you fellas. Cheers!
By the way, I'm looking for a home for the tobaggan. No room in the moving truck for two. If you know it and want it, it's yours. Dave Si.

Yes we limited out in 10 minutes and left.....and if you believe that I've got some killer property in Florida for sale that partially is water front

We left at noon and pulled up a total of zero fish. Mustang tried a bunch of different holes and we worked a few different lures but not one bite. I blame Mustang for pulling out all the good fish in the previous weeks. Overall it was a good morning out and good meeting everyone.

I'll probably try once more next weekend if the weather is nice, it's such a nice place even if there's no fish.

If the walk out was such a marathon, imagine dragging a large auger in and out then punching 19 holes before running out of gas. Thnx to Glenn and Jeff for that special effort. Dave Si

I have a question?????? Is a 1/4 fish still more fish than 0 fish? Just wondering because I do not see any pictures of the zero fish you guys caught though the ¼ is still a very nice photo.
Other than that, I agree with all the above comments, it was a wicked weekend with great weather. Kinda fun to see a 40 year old life time smoker give chase to a $150 hunting blind. After about a minute of running and very slowly gaining on it as it rolled down the ice in the wind, I was waiting for him to give up but he did not. One last lunge and a 5 minute rest and he was back in the game. Funny stuff.

Had a great time and even though the fishing was slow, the scenery more than made up for it. Had a lovely sunburn on the face...except of course where my sunglasses were but the chicks dig that look I am told.

Take care all and good luck out there. If things go well this week I might hit Spray one last time and see if I can catch my last fishes mother.

Oh yeah, forgot I learned something this trip. When the ice is as deep as the auger, be careful when you punch through or the auger will take a drink.

Jeff
