One update, so few ears submitted that t he NDP have now cancelled the Bounty on them. Didn't see much press on it however.

If they want more ears submitted they should increase the bounty! Make a fund to pay the farmer a big chunk of change when they allow a hunter to shoot pigs on their land.

The bounty isn't the roadblock or even the incentive. Access to lands that contain boars and knowledge of where to find them is the biggest roadblock.

As to finding them, completely True!!!. Most guys would hunt them for free just for the fun of it if they could locate some. I have never had trouble getting access from farmers to shoot wild pigs. They make a hell of a mess and all the farmers I have talked to wanted them gone.

Pigs are so hard to find in Alberta here that I travel to the States and Europe to hunt the, Works out cheaper than all the money you burn scouting for them here.

Lots at Hog Wild Specialties. Going there tomorrow for the weekend. I hope some of the snow has melted.

Take your hip waders. It is wet as all get out everywhere I have gone the past two weeks. There is deep water in place I have never seen water in 50 years.
Good luck on the hunt, post some pictures when you get back. I love pig hunting pictures, not to mention the big BBQ that follows.

Swore I seen a nice hog just off hwy 44 north of villenueve a ways. No fences so thought a big heavy chested dog then no tail that caught my eye and the way it was built and just standing there looking straight ahead...nice big hog if it was one.

That's where it was.! Just north of the four way stop maybe a mile. Isn't that something. First one I've seen. He was a good size too.
