Default Sajjan faux-pas?

Wow...

Couldn't find this on CBC but in National Post

http://news.nationalpost.com/news/ca...in-Afghanistan

The minister made the claim in a speech last week in India. He told a gathering of security experts in New Delhi on April 18 that “on my first deployment to Kandahar in 2006, I was the architect of Operation Medusa where we removed 1,500 Taliban fighters off the battlefield … and I was proudly on the main assault.”

The description was denounced as “a bald-faced lie” by a retired Canadian officer familiar with the planning done for Operation Medusa in the late summer and fall of 2006. Other officers who served in Afghanistan expressed similar anger and disappointment in Sajjan’s speech.

Just another member of Trudeau's cabinet caught lying, no surprise at all. He should be tossed off of the cabinet for this, but of course we know that will not happen.

She should be deported for the lie on her immigration papers.

With that, he lost respect from Veterans and still serving Soldiers. Things like this do not go over well. He might as well have been caught wearing medals that he hadn't awarded. Pretty much the same thing in many people's view.

They had a perfect example - Clinton.... Remember how she was running under the sniper fire in Bosnia? Hey, a little bit of lie won't hurt the liberal...

Honestly isn't lying about your military service about the biggest slap in the face to other military members? Isn't that an unwritten code of men to uphold honesty especially when it comes to those things?

Posers.

The older I get the better I was.

Stolen valor.

Danielle Smith's Father in law is very good at that. Google Surrendi. How this guy was a deputy minister in Alberta gov't says a lot about politics.

Could you imagine the snit storm this would have caused if it had been one of Harper's cabinet. But now it will just be a little side note and a quick apology and everything is back to normal.
What a double standard.

This Lying sack of bull excrement should be taken out and and shamed on the steps of Parliament. No way in hell should someone of this low character ever be representing Canada and our military anywhere.

Write your MLA, Trudeau and anyone else you can think of and DEMAND his resignation.

I would imagine some of the active and retired Servicemen Organizations will be quite vocal about this.

Does the Legion ever get into frays like this? Certainly lots of members in that organization to voice their opinion.

But whomever would replace him that has the mandatory Liberal diversity?? It's one of those situations where the Liberals core beliefs in appearance over substance would be rocked if a white guy had to be appointed to the position.

My predictions if Sajjan gets replaced (which he won't because Liberals have no balls when it comes to discipline):

1: Obvious lesbian veteran
2: Another veteran of ethnic diversity
3: White guy who is made palatable by means of an obvious disability, perhaps a limb lost from an IED while serving. After all, crippled white guys are wayyy ahead of able-bodied white guys in the Liberal hierarchy.

Whomever the appointment is, it won't be a combat-hardened former military commander with the universal respect of their peers.

What the heck was Sajjan thinking? Is he not aware that everything he says is recorded? Did he revert to the possible local custom of wild exaggeration when regaling his old neighbor's with tales of his awesomeness?? Is he just used to lying due to being a Liberal politician?

He is a politician

You all know that they are the lowest form of scum

Worst part, they are voted in by an even lower form of scum.

Who is surprised?

This is Canada's best folks! Truly, he is. He is the best we can do.

But, until it gets rebuilt from the ground up, nothing will change. Just more pigs at the trough that should be butchered.

My father served along side Sieks. He considered them among the very best, most feerless, ferocious and loyal comrades in arms he ever served with. Their sense of honor was second to none.

Tha failing in this case is at the individual level. It has NOTHING to do with where he was born, his color, or his religion. That said he still needs to resign for his complete failure of integrity.

This is probably not a big deal for civilians, just another lying politician. It is however, a very big deal for Veterans and still serving Soldiers. Integrity, honour and all of that good stuff are very important in the Military. Posers are considered a very low life form and he will not regain our respect. He now has zero credibility as Minister of National Defence to our Troops and never will have. This is not considered a small indescretion and will not just go away.

Has anyone noticed how Sajjan and Trudeau are calling it a mistake and everyone else is calling it a lie? Evidently if you word it carefully then you can't be guilty!

Profoundly disappointing.
The ONLY one of the current group of buffoons with a stain of credibility and he had to get caught up in a pecker checking exercise and track sh!t all over the carpet.
