Default Golden Trout

Some pictures of our trip for golden trout on saturday. Just small little guys but man it they're colors always amaze me. Took some others who hadn't been up there yet and I think they all enjoyed it. The fish cooperated pretty good so you gotta like when that happens.

I hope the OP of this thread doesn't mine me posting a few of the goldens I caught last year too, they have to be the prettiest fish around. I caught mine at the middle lake, which one were you fishing?

Just wondering if you've ever been up to Rainy Ridge?

I saw a fair amount of fresh Grizz sign near the South Castle a few weeks ago. They are out and about.

I have not been to rainy. Not sure how the hike or how the fishing compares. Luckily we did not see any grizzly activity. I pack a 12 guage defender and a can of bear spray though. haha, I'm a little paranoid I guess but better to have it and not need it.

Goldens have always been on my list ever since I was a kid looking at the species pages in the regs. Now that I know there's a hike involved to get at them, I'm even more interested in knocking them off my list.

take pictures and measurments. no need to actually keep the fish to get a mount made up.

Seriously, I don't know why you would want to keep any of them, just get a replica made. barnaby is already dead as far as I am concerned. We fished it hard the first trip and didn't even see a fish. Way to sensitive of a lake to be hauling them outta there, even if it is legal to do so. A replica would look just as nice.

Ive been to the golden trout lakes many times, a 40 cm fish is rare. They take a long time to grow in those lakes. Catchem, appreciate them, take a pic, letm go. X3 on a replica!
