Default Home made gear

I wonder how many on here make some of their own hunting ,fishing or camping gear . Myself I like to play on the lathe and have made several topwater fishing lures which I have had success with .
I really get a lot of enjoyment from the making and it is very satisfying when they actually work as intended. Here is a sample of some of my stuff .

Do you make your own gear ? let's see the pics.

How do you secure the hooks? Just a screw in eyelet or what? Those are really cool!

I use eyelet screws and epoxy them in. I have also used twisted SS wire and epoxy them in place

I've seen some of these lures in person and I can tell you they are well made and quite nice, the picture just doesn't do them justice

Nice stuff there. I've made a couple knives and posted them on here before. People are probably sick of looking at them. I also tried knitting a hunting scarf when I was about 12. Was the shortest thinnest scarf ever. Could have used it as a wrist warmer though. Nice lures.

i do it myself as much as possible, sometimes its not really possible

bought a small lathe and a milling wich is now cnc because i am too dumb to spin the screws by myself

i've done my bolt handles, i am doing a wood stock for a savage right now.
done a couple tools here and there but nothing too serious.
i have an almost 40 pnds rest that need to be fnished(i need to learn how to make nice threads on the lathe
i'd like to start making calls, its actually not very hard and its a good way to spend your sunay afternoon.
i'd like to make a good working bipod. . . .i'd make 3 dentical for the rifles, same thing for a monopod.

as usual, soo many projects and ideas, so little time to do it.

i ordered a 3d printer not too long ago, the fun will begin pretty soon.
i dont know what i'll be printng but i will find something useless to do.
maybe i could do some fishing lures

btw, i am looking for someone who is good enough with carving stuff.
i'd like to make a fawn decoy out of fiberglass. i need a basic shape, i make mine out of your mold, i make you one out of the mold, everybody is happy. if anyoe is interested. . .mp

Nice hooks people, my heard some stories about my grandpa making a few cheap ones, nothing pretty but they had a few bite marks in em.

Paper entry he would test them in a empty little pond/ slough outside of town and had people wondering what he was catching. He told some big story about a bunch of fish in there and sent them on their way. Lol

I'm not really a fabricator but I'm good at putting together parts and pieces in creative ways. You should see my quad some time

I need a bolt handle for an A7.........as in bigger knob.

The doe decoy. Use a factory made decoy or archery target as a mold. Tightly wrap up the decoy or target in plastic wrap and glass over it. Since you are going to use the "mold" more than once I take it you are going to cut the glass off the mold..............should work. I have a smaller size deer target that would work for that........the two front legs are formed together as well as the two rear legs. Makes it easier to cut the glass down the entire length and not have to deal with four legs. Join the two shells together and done.....

something like that ?

for the deer, its for calling with distress fawn.
it work good except when something comes close by and expect to see something. . . .i'll give them somethiing.
does a distressed fawn is usually laying down, standing, searching for mommy, i just dont know. something i know is that i want to have that decoy in the optmal position. if its legal to put batteries and motor in them, will remote control that thing to have head and tail moving as well as the whole body bouncing once in a while. just like a mojo decoy, for predators. the rabbit is cool but i want to show up with the all you can eat buffet for my carnivore buddy.
