Default Tay River

Hey guys, doing another day trip out west this weekend, just wondering if anyone's had luck on the tay. Any advice is helpful. We will be fly fishing

Around the bridge I've caught a few brookies. It's a pretty heavily fished river, but there are some. Good luck

Some brookies around bridge and a ways up, you get into some bushwacking as you go up and the creek is small with few deep holes. Down from the bridge there is a good hole where it dumps into the clearwater, I've heard of more than one good trout coming out of that spot. I was back on the trunk road at the James river a couple days ago and alot of the river still had ice coverage, not sure about Tay though. Good Luck.

I had plenty of luck on the Tay last year, not sure what's going on this year but the river was up last time I was out probably a month ago. I usually fish the rig street area but I've fished the majority of the Tay and have some really sweet honey holes. Nothing better than waking up 100 feet off the bank and whipping up the mornings breakfast if you get my drift all brookys last year.
