Default Dickson dam

Was out to day at Dickson, good ice about 16 to 18 inches, fished in 12 feet of water, decent action all day, most on the smaller size, kept 2 for dinner, was using powerbait and worms, got into a mess of suckers so I switched from fishing near the bottom to around 5 feet, I used a Hali Jig with a worm, that seemed to work very good today, I moved to the dyke part around 2 and I soon as I droped my line in something big came up from my flasher and ripped everything away, new line and jig, dont know what it was but it was fun for about 5 seconds.

They have put in big old broaders (sp?) in the lake, so it was likely that which hit your lure.

x2. a friend of mine had his rod sitting on a y stick at dixon last year . he looked away for a moment & there it was gone -- hook - line - & rod . there's some big retirees in there . you can actually see them swimming past about 5 ft. from shore in the summer . they won't take anything you throw at them tho. chasing minnows in the shore weeds i guess .

Just wondering how big were the suckers and is the water clear enough to see bottom. I've been looking for small suckers all year thanks for any information

I was fishing in a pop up in 10 to 12 feet of water and could not see bottom, you might be able to see maybe 3 feet, quite stained, the suckers were on the smaller size 12 to 14 inches

I checked the regs again and there is a limit of 3 pike with no size limit at dickson trout pond. So it could have been a big trout, or a wylie pike!

I was fly fishing in there last spring in my U boat with a Choronomid and strike indicator and same thing... Looked away for a second and bam! strike indicator? what strike indicator? And whatever it was nearly ripped the rod from my hand! Good fight for a couple seconds then gone! Booo! I'll get whatever that was this year dangit!

They usually put brood trout in there a few times a year. Not many but a few. Under 50. They come from Raven Fishery. 2 years ago I caught a 9 lb brood out of there. Trolling with a panther Martin. I kept telling everyone in the boat he was big, but everyone laughed. Until he swung beside the boat, that got everyone's attention. There is also the odd pike.
