After that hurricane of a wind yesterday, any ice that was trying to form on any body of water in the south is probably gone. IMHO it would be best to hold off for a while.

PCR will not be safe to ice fish this weekend. I was catching burbot there through the ice on Saturday but it was in very shallow water just off the boat launch. There were still big patches of open water and I imagine it did not freeze over anymore this week.

So the verdict is that it'll be open waters and good for burbot catching?

I'm hoping it stays nice now so I can go this weekend!

One weather report I listened to yesterday was calling for highs of +10 on Sunday for Calgary which has probably changed by now.

Remember that you cannot fish at night at PCR until December 1st.
