Default Newell Boat Launch Replacement

I realize many of you have your boats away, but for those still looking to sneak a day in the Newell PP boat launch is currently being replaced and is not accessible. You will have to use the north launch. There were a few boats being launched through the posts on the beach but I decided that rather than end up stuck i would drive around.

I was as excited to see that they are replacing that launch, for such a busy lake it really was one of the worst launches around.

Thanks for the heads up! I was going to go this week. I talked to a worker there and he said they are redoing the existing one and building another one beside it.

That's great they are fixing it up, it was brutal. Do you have to pay at the north launch? I have never used it but heard you had to pay.

It seems that it is technically $15 ($120 for a season pass) but the marina is closed and there is currently nowhere to pay, so................

Thanks for the heads up. Great to hear they are fixing the old one, it was in rough shape.

We drove out 2 hours last Saturday to find it unusable. We launched on the beach right beside. Some type of signage at the launch at any point this summer warning of this would have been nice.

Actually there is a box there with envelopes to which you write your plate # on.
It is worth it to pay as this is one of the better launches I have used.
There is even a porta potti!

Boat Launch is closed for a while. If you have a bigger boat you'll have to launch at the Lake Newell Resort marina.

Yes I was aware. Like my post above said we were out there last weekend and had to launch on the beach.

How's fishing at Newell right now? Isn't there a ramp to use at the sailing club? That is always a spot you can drive out on to the ice. Figured there was a concrete ramp there as well no?

There is a large drop into soft looking sand at the sailing club side. One would likely be better off at the north launch. Here is what the new boat launch looks like from the lake
