Thumbs up Pigeon Report

Now that the Christmas madness is over and I finally found some time to make out fishing. Based on some previous reports, it sounded like the Whites at Pigeon were on so I gave it a go. Yup, I'd say they were on….

12"-14” inches of ice with drifted snow on the lake. Snow isn’t too deep but it would be 4x4 only although I wouldn't drive out with a pick-up just yet. Quad for me.

Thanks man. It was a great day to be out on the ice. Good mix of sizes. Even caught a few smaller ones which a let go to catch another day. Great fight with these bigger ones. Lost a brute at ice edge. Guessing 6lbs+

good job! i was at pigeon yesterday and didnt have much luck. hooked and lost a monster white, *****ed a couple more. my sister *****ed a couple walleye and a pike and landed a good burb. probably saw 35 whites on the cam. i keep the cam at the bottom of the ice pointed at an angle just in case they are as camera shy as people say. i guess i wasnt holding my lips right?

The provincial park area was slow today! There is 21 inches of ice at 6'fow and 15 inches at 9'fow . The water was very murky close to the boat launch;not sure why.

Congrats on what looks like a great day on Pigeon Penner.
Hopefully I can have a few of those days myself sometime soon.

Hey Penner if you don't mind sharing, what works well at pigeon? I've never fished it before but will likely give it a go this winter.

Pigeon was drivable for us......and many others. Ice is good and the snow isnt too tough to get through without any tracks to follow, but just to make sure I tend to drive in a loop and park on my own tracks that way its way easier to get out after.
