Here is a cut from the lake that the trout went into.
"No private boats, float tubes, or paddle boats are allowed (by order of the Water District)
Santa Ana River Lakes is open seven days a week with fishing allowed from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. on day passes or from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on an evening pass. Each of these passes is $22. Seniors pay only $20. All of these passes have a five-fish limit. For kids 4 to 13, a three-fish pass is just $9. There are 24-hour passes available every Friday and Saturday. These 24-hour passes cost $60 and anglers can bring a spouse and up to three kids to help fill the 24-hour pass 15-fish limit. Camping at SARL is also free with a 24-hour pass. "
Maybe we don't have fish that large when stocked, but they do have the opportunity to grow. The fish you saw, don't last through the summer because the water heats up too much. I'm happy to pay the $25.66 instead of fishing under these conditions. No doubt in my mind that we have things better up here.

We got 590 rainbow trout stocked yesterday.....but when they stock they use clear plastic tubes so you can see the fish come off of the truck.

By next spring I should have some "double digit" rainbow in my dugout too! Man are those big ones on another video of thiers AWESOME. Knocking on 30 lbs, lordy, what do ya gotta feed em to get them up into that caliber! Those colored fish are unreal, looking foreward to my brookies, counting the sleeps now!
