wow, looks like the gun recoiled just enough away from his head. it bucks backward ever so slightly and hits his hat. that is as close as it gets without being dead I would think. Never look down the barrel of a loaded firearm. just wow.
it's already been proven as B.S. a while back- the dead giveaway is the second pump then the sequence of the gun going off and the hat blowing off!

Biggest key is there's no smoke, or visible gasses from the "close call" shot. Plus I don't think anyone is that careless with their own life / truly that stupid. And I don't think you would just give a slight moan and walk away 3 seconds after nearly blowing your head off. It would probably take you 3 mins just to figure out your not dead, lol.
