The farmer sees them every couple of days or so, he's old and dont shoot anymore. Mostly seen in the morning or late evening. Eating grain put out for the cattle.

Daylight...
Finally starting to get them to come in during some daylight hours since the last time I checked my camera. These are only a couple of pics, as I had to resize them to be able to load to the page. But it gives you ladies and gents an idea. Again dates and time are wrong, Im not gonna re-set it everytime, I just figure it out.

I'll add my name to the list of people who would like to hunt wild hogs in alberta, I've put in a good many hours on here seeking leads but I'd like to meet someone in person who has seen or shot a pig in southern alberta "ish" just to pick their brain a little hahaha. PM me if you wouldn't mind swapping some ideas or talking about how to hunt these buggers.

Well, It's been about 9 months since Paintchips posted these pics and I'm very curious to find out how he did. It looked like he had a chance to harvest some.

A 'necro post' is when someone comments on a thread that is a few months/years old and brings it back to 'life' (the first page of the forum)
I personally like it when people bring these threads back, I too was curious to see how paintchips made out
Wild Boars in Alberta are pretty scarce (for the moment) and I think that when guys find a reliable spot for hunting them they guard it pretty jealously, we don't have many year round hunting opportunities here. I almost hope they become more of a problem myself haha
P.S. Welcome to the Forum!
EDIT: just noticed paintchips wasn't the op

Hey thanks for the quick reply and thank you for the welcome! Yeah, I think it's a good thing to breed new life into this whole wild hog thing, I'm excited to chase leads and stomp some brush, maybe get lucky one of these days haha!

They have been here plenty long, I believe the chances of them becoming a big problem are pretty much non-existent. If it was going to happen it likely would have by now. Big difference between Alberta and the places where they are a problem.

Yup, be careful what you wish for. Equivalent of the guys illegally stocking pike in trout lakes, not gonna end well.
