Default Gopher country. North eastern, central.

I have just come down from Ft Mac. Dropped af a few rifles at prophet river, and am having an explore in north east, and dropping down to central east Alberta.
Having a look for a few gophers, found a few in around, Vermilion, but havn't managed to find land owner, but it's mostly cropping country,
Am guessing that, cattle grazing areas might be a better choice, rather than disk, and harrowed land.
Now dropping down, towards wainwright .
If anyone would like to point me into a cattle area, or gopher area, would be most gratefull.
Lots great duck country, and plenty of birds, enjoying sum new country.
Thanks.

Well I had a great evening, dropping south and found a farmer home, so managed a nice walk and a dozen gophers, quite impressed with my little CZ .17 hornet.
Deer and ducks, every were, and a real cracker of a calm evening.
Fell for the farmers, it's already pretty dry out east, hope we get a steady fine rain for a few days so moisture can soak in to the soil.
