tomorrow is supposed to be +10 with no wind!  so i loaded all afternoon and have 400 222 ready to go. got the bench pulled out of the basement and now all i have to do is find my elusive front rest

Got in a bit of shooting before the wind picked up and made the long shots a bit dificult. Never did find my front rest but i made do with sone homemade sandbags.

Three of us out today. Lost count of kills but we went through 600rounds of 22. 300 rounds of 17hmr and 100 rounds of 22.250. I will more than likely estimate low and add 400 to the count. 1907 + 400 -2307.?

My son got his first two gophers today. He was using a Ruger 10/22 Tactical (he thought that one looked cool), with a Pursuit 3-9 power scope.
I got my first of the season. I used my 10/22 for my first one. The second one I tried out the 22-250. I think I'll stick to the 22's for the gophers, lol

Got out again this afternoon for a couple hours and dealt out some major league headshots! Won't post pics of those, a little to graphic...
I lost count after about 20ish. Was setting up on groups of 2-6 of the little suckers at a time so shooting was more important than counting!

Got out with the new .17 thursday and got 19 after sighting it in.
Went out sunday with 4 shooters, all .17's
Got another 365, including a couple doubles!
So 2307 (+22 not added above) + 365+19 =2713

Another 18 for us today, took the girlfriend out, her first gopher, and her first shot on anything living! She's pretty good! The stone cold gopher killer.

Started really late and haven't found that real "honey hole" yet so me and my bow have combined for a whopping 15 in the last 2 days, bringing the lifetime total to an even more impressive 15!
After a short "vacation" we'll be doing some more.
One of the ones I got today was a total fluke. 63 yards while it was running. It took 4 shots to finally get it.

I decided to take out a young guy in our youth ministry for some trigger time. It was a fantastic first spring gopher outing with at least fifty gophers "neutralized". Longest shot was 150yards with the 17HMR, shortest was 1 yard with the 17HMR as well. Two happy shooters & one ecstatic farmer!
Might be a while before a good shoot with the dreadful weather blowing in!
