Good call I don't know how I missed Stamkos. I wouldn't call Giroux a shoe-in though. But I do think Giroux will make the team.

Agreed on Stamkos as a lock. Giroux not a lock but should make it.
Who are the locks on D?
Doughty, Keith, and not sure

Agreed on Seabrook and Weber. I honestly can't believe Phaneuf got an invite, maybe they were hoping he'd bring his wife along for some eye candy...

Unreal lengths to keep leafs nation happy. If you had to invite a leaf I would have went with Kadri

lol BP I honestly have to question whether you even watch hockey, let alone have ever skated in any sort of organized game in your life. Its brutal the stuff that you have posted on this thread. At least guys with differing opinions have some substance to their arguments, but its obvious you legitimately have no clue whatsoever when it comes to the game of hockey. Roberto Luongo has been one of the games best right from his days in florida to Vancouver. And that's not including his Junior days and Olympics. Get a grip on reality pal. Youre so far out in left field its embarrassing to read man.

Bobby Lou is Canada's goalie if they want a chance. Holtby is so under rated, I hope he gets a chance. Anything after those two, your looking at an epic fail. The. U.s has the goalies this year... there's gonna be a bunch of you crying when the Canadians don't medal, and you'll realize why crawford shouldn't have been even mentioned , nevermind started.
Potty you are on drugs...that grease ball elfloppo sits between the pipes floppin around we will never even have a fighting chance. Any other tendy please...don't let a huge salary cloud your thought process!

Sorry for the double up maybe mods can delete my thread.
I like St. Louis and Thornton as players but I think the big ice needs younger legs, hence Nash before St. Louis in my eyes. Nash had a good tourney in 2010 , he has lost respect from the Columbus shenanigans but I think he can still play.

Well the made the big announcement , only a few got me by surprise.
Jeff Carter, and Vlasic. Probly all right just over looked them. My only to ? Marks are Marleua and Hanzus. Not sure about Patrick's legs on the big ice . Figured Seabrook would be in.

Kevin Lowe is part of the management roster so there goes any chance of a medal.

Good to see Taylor Hall did not make it!.... Don't need stupid give aways on European ice... Besides I think he needs to learn that he is not entitled!...

The problem with Edmonton is that they have not had a hard@ss for a coach. I wish they had Torterella because then we would not be hearing all the platitudes from Achin'

We lost the game but we had some good moments

We lost the game but the guys are working hard...

Don't need that for Canada, in International play we are hated and we have to expect that the calls will go against us a lot, and we have to deal with the fact that most of the world wants to see us lose as we are the top dog.

We just have to deal with it and I like the roster, some good players Bobby Lou is the only one I have big questions about... BUT... he did earn the gold medal in the last Olympics so he deserves a shot and it may be the thing to turn him around mentally.

So what was the excuse when Pat Quinn was their coach? He is as militant as they come! You can have all the coaching ability in the world but you can't instill a compete level or effort if its not in the constitution of the player.

Subban should be good for a few goals for the other side.

He'll cough it up or take a stupid penalty at a critical juncture and screw the team.

Benn and Marleau over St. Louis and Giroux.

Vlasic and Hamhuis over Seabrook and Boyle?

Bronze for us!

Pretty stacked team, probably the best stacked team in this tournament. Doesnt mean they will gel but no lack of talent thru 4 lines.

My only question mark is Nash, lazy sack of ..........underachiever.............. Giroux should have been in his place.

The rest looks good. surprised to see Carter, would have liked to have seen St. Louis but think Yzerman knows that one well. lol

I agree. I would've liked to have seen Giroux over Nash but at the end of the day (or tournament), it doesn't really matter. Can't say that the difference between gold and bronze or what have you depends on one player making or not making the team.

I also don't think a ton of Hamhuis but again, it doesn't really matter.

Canada's second team.

Hall-Giroux-St. Louis
Couture-Thornton-Eberle
Skinner-Staal-Neal
Lucic-Seguin-Iginla

Campbell-Seabrook
Giordano-Staal
Methot-Letang
Phaneuf-Boyle

Crawford
Fleury
Harding

Haha, good for a second place finish.
