Default fishing near edmonton

Can anyone suggest somewhere (lake or river) within an hour of Edmonton where fishing from shore offers some reasonable opportunities? Species not really important, just would like to go fishing when we are there.
thanks

***Warning*** DO NOT fish the North Saskatchewan right now. Water levels are way high from all the rain. Very Dangerous right now! Give it some time to get back to normal.

......and the river has risen over 6 metres. You would need to tie on a 5 gallon pail full of cement attached to your hook to hold bottom lol! Stay safe.
