Default Ice Thickness

Just trying to save some of you some trouble....

Ice at Pigoen measured at 32" Feb 5th............time for an extension on the auger.

Going to find mine now, I think by the weekend it will be needed.

Is the ice thicker this year than the last year ?

Yes, I can only remember one year in the past 10 when we needed extensions, this being the second. Now it's supposed to warm up a bit, dropping or settling the snow, which drops the insulation factor. Believe it or not the ice will get thicker with this warm weather.

any idea where to buy these extentions?

I built mine but I'm sure they are available at most places augers are.
