I have just left Rock Lake and it looks to have completely winter killed. Many pike perch and whitefish along the shore and on the bottom. I was fishing with five uncles and another man and we had no bites at all. No pike caught at Lake Newell either, but no sign of winter kill there.
i'm guessing by the species that its not the one in the willmore

I got skunked at Newell for the first time
Ever on Saturday, not a single bite, no signs
of fish. I tried everything, wide selection of spoons
Some large spinners, bunch of cranks. even broke out a
Rapala skitter pop, that was more for my amusement lol
last year around this time the pike could not seem to get
enough of my perch pattern Len Thompson and Mepes floro yellow

maybe the water is still to cold, and the fish are still sluggish
i live in brooks to i fish newell all the time.. today i caught lots of pike in the 5 pound range like 10 or 12 and even some walleye today 2 4 or 5 pounders .. it was a good day 4 me ....
