Default when, where NSR with smelts?

Heya, not looking for your secret spot, just a suggestion...bought a bunch of fresh smelts...have a few leftovers after a fish fry. I was thinking when in the evening would be a good time to try one on a hook in the NSR in Edmonton? and a suggested spot would be nice? i've tried Devon with no luck.

if it doesnt pan out I may throw some flies at the goldeyes!

thanks
J

never used smelts or bait fishing in the nsr, how ever some good spots are goldbar and hermatige outfall 74, but many more along the river, you just have to hike along the river and cast to any back eddys.
