Default Lindy Rig?

This may sound stupid to some of you, but what is a Lindy Rig?
What can you catch with it?
How do you use it?
Thanks

You run it on bottom with a slip weight allows bait to drift.

It is a live bait rig designed by the Linders to be slowly dragged across the bottom as a very slow presentation for walleyes. It was designed to be as natural looking as possible and give those picky eyes plenty of time to bite.

i can't believe the info you're asking for can all be found on eHow. that just speaks to how revolutionary this system has become. no matter how guys try to twist/alter the rig and give it new pet names, bottom line they're all variations of the original Lindy Rig. the versatility is what makes it such a great fishing system.

what is it?

http://www.ehow.com/how_4577112_lind...e-fishing.html

how do you use it?

http://www.ehow.com/how_5138790_use-lindy-rig.html

a little history

http://www.lindyfishingtackle.com/ourlegacy/aboutlindy/

what does it catch?

anything that swims.

A slow presentation for finicky eyes and pike that can be used with a slow death hook.

slow death hook = just another addition to the original lindy rig system. the hook itself was designed exclusively for live night crawler fishing. i'm not a big fan of guys calling a lindy set-up a "slow death" rig. not that you're doing that horse.

I like fishing these with a floating jig head - keeps your bait off the bottom. I don't know if it's still called a Lindy rig though.

yep. yet another variation Art. my favorite. it's a good one to set up for the kids too, as it can be still fished effectively even with a dead bait like a minnow.
