Southgate Edmonton Shop keeper, tried to stop a group of 4 people
Edmond shop keeper, in Southgate mall was beaten, when he tried to stop a group of 4 from stealing a cash tray, from a shop in the mall, now has died from the injuries the 2 gave him, lets hope all 4 get a charge of murder, 2 are being held by police, these 2 did not take part in the beating, lets hope they tell the police who the other 2 are and all 4 get charged with murder.
Another reason for carry permit,

three days ago this took place
I doubt the pukes will do any serious time.
I like how in some countries even if a bad guy dies from injuries the bad guys buddies are charged with the injuries or other related criminal charges whether they partook in the crime or not.
Guilty by association works for me.

I have little doubt the suspect will be caught, considering they mentioned good video footage. I'm willing to bet they will have an existing criminal record and have barely ever been held accountable for their crimes. Our catch and release system at its finest
RIP to Iain Armstrong, a man who proved himself to be a stand-up gentleman in his final action.

You guys know the victims name already, man thats fast.
All it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.
This guy tried to do the right thing and paid the ultimate price.
I hope the pukes get some jail house justice.
RIP Ian

That should cost them their own lives, we don't need them.

Why is the victim's picture published before the criminals?

Yup the criminals have more rights than the victims. That’s the way it works in Canada. A clip of the video showing the perps and not the victim should be everywhere but they have to safe guard the criminal so it doesn’t ruin their life.

Agree 100%. First we will have to get rid of the idiot calling himself this country's leader or the hugging is going to get out of control.

As long as all of them went into the store knowing they would Rob it no matter what it should be able to charge them all for murder.

The legal system and the justice system are often two separate entities. Lets hope justice prevails and the murderer gets his..and not off on a technicality as is so often the case.

When we all start carrying there will be no such thing as an unarmed criminal.
Everyone knows that, some just won't admit it. I hate to say it but the downhill slide on greased bearings the country is in might just force us into that very sad state, legal or not.

It would be pretty tough to make the carry permit work without changing the laws otherwise you'd never be able to use it to defend yourself.
Ken hit the nail on the head about armed criminals but honestly, I'd rather take the chance of running into an armed criminal while I am armed than run into a possibly armed criminal while I'm unarmed.

Rather be judge by 12 then carried by 6.. it’s a loosing battle all the way . It’s seem that our kindness has been taken as a weakness .

Exactly! The police via the media keep saying they have excellent photo and video of the suspect and have his buddies in custody but they haven't arrested him?
If that's because his friends won't talk or they know who he is but don't know where to find him, how bout they show the pics/video so the public can help instead of being so secretive like they always are.
It might prevent further him from committing further crimes before he's caught.

If that had been a cop or rcmp that was killed, I guarantee all 4 would have been charged. Lucky if they charge one in this instance.

And if he did protect himself and lived he be hating life because he would be up on charges. Things could be better but not going to happen in Canada.

It's time to bring back the death penalty, then we can get rid of scum like this. As well, everyone involved should be charged for killing the man, and give the rest reduced sentences if they give up the murderer, and testify against him.

All it would take is one or two thugs to die from the death penalty and most wannabe thugs would stop acting like "boyz in tha hood"

We need to allow the provinces to be like the States in how they handle serious crimes and
Alberta needs to be like Texas.

Such a law would have the effect of reducing crime, as would simply giving stiffer sentences for their crimes and a more unpleasant jail experience overall. There will be the contingent that will never learn though, but some of those are getting taken care of permanently. The opioid crisis is driving a lot of the crime wave and those junkies are notorious for not following police instructions and being not only uncooperative but also very aggressive with whatever means they have at hand be it a vehicle or a knife or even a needle. This is what is driving the increased number of people being killed by the police, although others (aka: other criminals and the idiots who are friends with/related to them) will paint it as the police being out of control.
I echo elkhunter11's suggestion that Canada institute a law that lays murder charges against every member of a group that commits a violent crime that results in the death of an innocent/s. In US States that have such legislation its usually referred to as 'felony murder'.
