Shacks just blown over? Or ice conditions deteriorating? Planning to drive up and meet some buddies who are driving down from edmonton and would hate to have bad conditions. We would liekly be walkng on and just setting up clam tents. Enjoy the warm weather on the ice lol.

It most likely the crappy white crust that has been effected by the weather. It will melt down a little and be messy for a while, but it will improve after a week or so of freezing to be better than it was before the warm spell.

The good clear ice underneath should be fine with little or no change.

I'm more concerned about the ice heaves due to the wind .... any out there on Gull?

I was going to get my rubber boots ready for a weekend trip.

Was at Brownlows first thing this am, snow not bad keep on the beatin path and you're fine, windy and warm, lots of perch in the 6 to 8 inch range, not to many whites cruising, caught 2 whites first thing then only saw a few after that, fished in 7 feet of water .

I was out at Brownlows as well. Zero whites but a few perch. Driving on was way better than I thought it was going to be. Stay in the tracks and it was easy for a front wheel drive suv. There was 14'' of good ice. Nice day all in all.

Roger that! Brownlows isn't awesome but at least you can spend most of the day fishing instead of digging. I'd rather fish somewhere like Birch Bay but on Monday there was no one else out there & I made it a grand total of 100 yards from boat launch before I got stuck in 10"of packed snow with my '99 Dodge Ram (which rarely ever gets stuck), never mind the huge pool of flood ice in front of me had I made it another 100yards. I got the heck out of there PDQ. Hopefully it's navigable there now though but haven't heard.

Anyone hear about what conditions are at Wilsons?

Brownlows is not my first choice either, but with the way the snow conditions are this year its actually not a bad spot, with a little exploring and some technical equipment there are some productive areas, rather fish than dig out for sure, and don't feel like pulling a sled across that muck.

I have a place just South of Wilson Beach. There is no vehicle access to the lake due to the snow.

That's what I was hoping for but no luck, not even a burb. Might have had a white worth posting but it snapped me off.

Fishing was slow overall but did manage to bring in a few whites and perch, plus a couple of pike on the tip-up. Moved around a lot and marked a ton of fish on the flasher and I mean a lot, but they just weren't interested.

I managed 5 perch 5 pike a burb. Missed two whites, they were really finnicky and not commiting.. whites biting and coming in at top hook only. 2-3feet down. Saw a few burbs. Didn't have a smelt ready. Slow as heck today had to work for those fish. Saw schools of perch in 10fow. Caught pike and burbs on my usual power bait 3 inch tipped with a smelt. No leader. One was 8lbs. Saw burbs in 10 ft and also 4 feet. Remember about 10 more days until they are closed on gull
