Default Rapala Warranty .....

A couple of years ago I decided that I needed a few 2 PC.
rods . Everything I owned were 1 PC and usually in my boat
Rod locker . I went shopping for 2 PC. Med Action 5-6 ft. Jigging
Rods. I came upon the TS and TPS Rapala series . I don't think they
Were 50 bucks , Stiff , soft tip ,perfect . At the time a couple of people
On here did dis the quality . But I still have Boron -Graph walleye rods
I designed in the early 70s , all 1 PC. And they work fine ,still .
This spring I opened the storage Rod case and the TPS was 3 pcs.
No scars , not crushed ,puzzling . I thought I got nothing to lose
So I sent and email and pic to Oshawa asking if I could buy a tip
Section for this Rod . In short order apologeticly they said there were
Not any parts , but package it up , send it to Oshawa and they would
See what they could do .
Today via canpar , arrives a tube with a brand spanking new , TS 2
Rod in it , with a note thanking me for my business .
In my long tenure on the water , hard and soft I have purchased
A lot of Rapala product with great satisfaction . Cudos to them .
I would have been ok either way . But I am still satisfied ....Good old
Lauri

Too bad more businesses weren't run that way - customer service is hard to beat.

Good to hear. I find most rod company warranty is good. Agree, wish more companies were like that

Better than my experience with them. My rod (a ts2) was less than 2 years old and the ceramic tip broke.
I emailed rapala explained my situation and asked if they could point me to where I could get the correct size replacement or if they could send me the part and I would gladly pay them for it. All I got was a reply from John rapala saying they don't make that model ts2 anymore. Seemed like he didn't try very hard or cared to help me out. I'm sure they use this same tip on a lot of their other rods.
I ending up taking my tip to wholesale sports and found a replacement metal tip.
Newellknik I'm glad your experience was better but I think it's just luck of the draw with rapala and with many big companies, sometimes you get lucky and get someone who gave a damn and in my case sometimes you don't.
