Default Red deer river boat launch

Is there a trail to the river to launch at Dorothy Alberta bridge?

The number of times I have driven by this area I am sure it is all on private land and do not think there is a launch there.

All you can do is drive out to Dorothy and ask the land owner. But I do not think there is any launch where you could back in a trailer.

Good luck

You can drive under the bridge and park but it's not suitable to launch a boat there. Unless it's small(canoe , zodiac) and your able to man handle it the 15ft to the river.

Probably easier to launch at Finnegan ferry and run up if you have a jet keeping in mind it freezes early November so a jet can be an issue if its in slushy condition(overheating) its also extremely shallow with no current to show obstructions under the surface of which there are a lot midstream so knowing the river is a must. However a canoe works just fine until freeze up and is easy to launch where ever you please.

There's 2-3ft of ice on the river until usually the 1st-2nd week of April so ya she's pretty cold
