Brookies should be Catch and release in Maligne after the September long weekend. Won't happen but it would be the right thing to do.

Brookies are plentiful in Maligne and are an invasive species at least in these parts.

Don't get me started on that..And you are missing the point........
Rainbows and Browns get protection in the bow and they aren't native.

How about for once, as a forum, we don't derail one of speckle's posts

The entire invasive species is a farce.

It was a comment in regards to the fishery. It was in no way derailing David's post. David and I have long been disappointed in most of how parks fisheries has operated.

Twenty years ago u caught majority rainbows now it's the opposite
So protecting the brookies is not balancing out the two species

Mind your manners...

I was asking the OP for tips as the pics look great. He mentioned it was a guide outfit and that is fair - not for him to comment on.

Never asked for your thoughts or opinion though.

BTW - Not my thread to offer up my personal tips - I never caught them - but I will humbly share with anyone the little I know on the sport if they ask.

Ok my apologies. There's just too many threads that have all gone down the drain with ethics post, no harm intended!

Goldarn you speckles. It's not enough that I missed going on a pheasent hunt today and had to look at all the pretty colors of all the birds my buddies shot, but now you have to post those beautifully colored brookies.
Congrats on another great day of fishing, and darn, some of those are quite large.

X2! Great fish and congrats! But...

Fisheries should be protected during the spawn, C&R only. To many big fish caught and kept when they should be continuing to spawn and ensure the health of the fishery.
