Default MD Acadia Irrigation Study

As per the support staff in my MLA's office the "Alberta Gov. and it's Partners" are investing in a study to bring Irrigation to the MD of Acadia. As per the news release much glory will fall on the MD & Alta Gov.

Question being how much water is available for that purpose and not allocated ? Sounds pretty ambitious and we've been dealing with declining river flows over the last couple of decades. There is already a dam and reservoir on the Red Deer, below capacity most of the year.

This should be interesting. My understanding is water for the whole south of the province is already allocated.

Alberta really screwed the pooch on the meridian dam. What could have been.

I think the government has big dreams for more dams.....and then moving more water to irrigation.

Apparently fish don't really need water.
Like when most of the water is removed from the Waterton River and transported east in a ditch. Results in flows far below recommended flow volumes and subsequent elevated water temperatures
