If the mighty Oil have a better season than the Flamers... you owe me.

If the (never gin happen) Flamers have a better season than the Oil... I owe you one bottle.

Let's try and keep the politics out of a good hockey thread. You can take it to the flames thread, as there isn't much going to go on over there.

Oilers are going to rule the Northern Division. Let's go boys, one game at at time.

Bo Horvat and his team will dominate McJesus and his team just like they did every year in the OHL. 14 out of the last 15 years and the playoffs are foreign to the SOILERS

I see Athenasiou lit the lamp last night... lol
Solid 30 point guy for the last few years and we only played him 9 games.
I’m fairly certain we didn’t hear the whole story as to why he left. Me thinks he wanted out and demanded it...

Athenasiou and that "type" of player isn't going to help the oil with their biggest problem. D zone coverage, neutral zone turnovers, and lack of grit. Oil score plenty of goals, we allow wayyyyy to many against. Its been like that since 2006.

Clearly the blender line combinations need to stop. Boys can't get any chemistry going. Get Nuge back on with Dri and Yamo and keep cycling thru the roster until we find someone who clicks with McJesus.

Bear looks out of shape and just awful.

Nothing he did in those 9 games, or the 75 before that, came anywhere close to justifying a 3 Mil cap hit. The Covid situation sucked, and losing those draft picks for basically nothing really sucks, but 100% the right move by Holland IMHO.

I know you love to focus on the negative, even if you have to create it yourself, but he didn’t have to demand anything. Just say no to the offer and let the chips fall. He chose to bet on himself...and if the rumours about what the Oilers offered are true, he lost big time.

He got the kind of money you get for maybe putting up +/- 30 pts while being a total defensive liability. They can have him. Not what the Oilers need. I don’t miss him.

Ken Holland didn't get the goalie he wanted (and now we lost another to a waiver pickup) but he did pretty good work putting together a plan B. The general consensus is that the team is much deeper and that it looks pretty good on paper. How it plays out, we're gonna find out pretty quick.

No real home ice advantage. The Oilers will be paying a tribute to Joey Moss tonight.

With a Canadian division, which guarantees that four Canadian teams make the playoffs, the odds of out Alberta teams making the playoffs, just increased dramatically. And it guarantees that a Canadian team makes the semi finals, so even if they are all pathetic, at least one of them gets to play in the semi finals.

Default Spoilers

Stopped watching the oilers after third Toronto loss, have no interest, was a fan forever.

Feel bad for the wasted talent of McDavid and others ending up golfing
early ever year. Brutal management, need an intelligent hockey people as the GM and Coach.

I still watch hockey, my favorite team ?

Any and everyone kicking the crap out of the Flames.

Yep. I like what Holland has put together, and I like what I'm hearing from the team. They know what they need to do to be a legit contender, and they're focused on it.

So much will depend on Koskinen being solid and Smith being just serviceable, but if they can do that, I really like our chances.

I can hardly wait to watch McDavid do McDavid things!

I’m hoping there is less cross checking than was in the Tor/Mtl game.

Brutal beating on Matthews.

So far the skills are lacking at the start of the game.
