I honestly think that its not that the news on our major channels are wrong, its just they either have a paticular slant due to ownership interests or viewer base they cater to. They cover sensationlism, I shudder to think this but there are probably people who watch FOX and feel its finally news that is unbiased. In reality its only news they want to hear being spoon fed to them because it lines up with their own beliefs.

Is the news media controlled for higher purposes as directed by an elite as some conspiracy theorists say? I don't think so, they can't even keep a blowjob in the oval office a secret from the press. I think we are lucky that in USA or Canada our news if fairly unfettered, its just lacks neutrality!

I don't think people want to know the truth anymore, sometimes it's just too much to handle. People for the most would rather quietly live their own lives and let someone else deal with the BS in the world around us...

Reading his superiors definitely wasn't his strong suit, not that he cared too much I don't think.

North Korea isn't going to do squat. That mental case coward has no balls, only posturing and guesturing to convince his people they are under imminent threat of attack, it's the only way he can keep his dictatorship fifedom going. If his people ever find out how the rest of the world lives they would put his head on a stick. Somebody needs to assinate that little ********** and his regime. If they would quit reporting on his antics all over the media he would take his ball and go home. He loves the attention.

It is amusing.

In this thread, I am made out to be the paranoid one.

Meanwhile, the circus is rabbling about Kim jong Un like he is going to land on our coast.

Sure sure, I'M the paranoid one.

Just was talking to a guy that moved here from Korea years ago and he still has family there. He says what we see on the news etc is all horribly overblown(surprise...). Things are undoubtedly a mess but unfortunately we can't trust anything the news etc tells us.

Default I feel sorry for North Korea ....

North Korea is the "de facto" BUFFER zone that seperates communism and western capitalism ...

..... a bit of history

The Korean War was an episode in the Cold War. It seemed to be a war between South and North Korea, but America and Russia were using it to fight without having a ‘hot war’. The USA went to war in Korea for three reasons. The first reason was the ‘Domino theory’ – China turned Communist in 1949 and Truman feared that the next ‘domino’ would be Japan. The second was to undermine Communism and protect the American way of life – in 1950 the American National Security Council recommended that America start 'rolling back' Communism. Thirdly, Truman realised the USA was in a competition for world domination with the USSR. Russia went to war because Stalin wanted Communism to grow. In 1949, Kim Il Sung persuaded Stalin and Mao Tse Tung to support an invasion of South Korea. In 1950, Syngman Rhee threatened to attack North Korea. It was an excuse – the trigger for war: the NKPA invaded South Korea

IT HAS NEVER BEEN about North Korea .....

poor starving deprived bastards ( no wonder their grumpy ), at the end of the Korean war 85% of their infrastructure was bombed into DUST !

TBD

P.S. check it out on the MAP, North Korea, China and Russia all intersect at the Korean peninsula AND THEN you have western capitalism to the south - south Korea.

P.S.S. China will continue to support them as they form the buffer with Western Democracy, if WAR breaks out it won't be b/w the US and North Korea - it'll be the USA vs. China with the North Koreans play`n extra, they'll be just hav'n their fight in North Korea's front yard, poor bastards will be bombed into DUST again !!

P.S.S.S Russia will be in their sell'n arms to the North Korean's, like vietnam .... it'll be a bloody mess !

Only way for the USA to test China's strength - and North Korea will be used to make it happen !!

Umm, the US has been at war wih NK since 1950. There was no peace treaty remember. And I highly doubt he's mimicking any American posturing when he has people much closer to home to follow on the footsteps of.
