Default Carson,Star, or Satler's Lake?

Does any have an ice report for any of theses lakes. I would like to start the season off with some first ice trout.

Default Salters Lake

There is nice size fish to be caught at Salters. Just be careful around the aerator. This one was caught at sundown.

you cant possibly miss it, straight out from the dock when you arrive. its open and the ice can be iffy depending where you are around it,
plenty of people get pretty close to the open water however.
too close for my comfort lol

Is there any reports on how thick the ice is. Should I fish past the aerator, or stay by the doc area?

Nice fish. Too bad it belongs in the lake. Scrawny 22 inch male spawners out of Salter's aren't the best eaters.

I would but I do not have any reports for carson. I do not want to drive 2 hours to find unsafe ice. Do you have any ice reports for carson?

I have really wanted to drive in there but I always carry my rifle this time of year.

Default Star Lake Hog

Caught this hog in late afternoon. Ice thickness is from 2 to 8 inches all over the lake. My holes were 10 feet apart and one hole was 3 inches thick while the other was 8 inches. Be careful of thin ice there.
Happy Trout Hunting
