Still waiting for my "Boone and Crockett" skunk to come back from tanning. Just a tad shy of 48" after boarding on a fox board. That was my first one skinning as well. I'm thinking skunk hat.

I don't know, these critters make you want to run the other way.

Nice pelt. A few more and you can make your girlfriend/wife a new coat to wear to church in winter.

Or even a few more pelts and make a skunk blanket for the man cave.

If you are adventurously precise when you skin your skunks remove the scent glands and remove the essence with a syringe and put in a glass bottle. Skunk essence is a useful scent for trapping red fox. A couple drops goes a long way.

I used the syringe before i skinned so i didnt get a shot in the face while pulling the hide off after all you are staring down the gun barrel
Worked great with the pressure released it was easy peasy
Pretty cool blanket Red thanks for sharing

I have one skunk pelt hanging on my wall and got a couple more done for my buddies. Easy to skin and makes you feel more confident once you remove the scent from the glands with a syringe!
