This time of year can be a little tough, blue green algae is starting to show up and the water is warming in the smaller lakes and ponds. The bigger lakes like Newell seem to hold up better. As the water cools into late Aug. the lake fishing picks up. The river should be good all year this year, lots of good walleye there, evenings are best as the water clears.
