Default sylvan lake white fish....update at sunbreaker

well first time in my pontoon boat....
as the air got cooler...pontoons became softer and it was harder to row. didnt have a anchor....that cost me as i had to row half the day. had 3 fish on...2 i think were pike...snapped off my katemaster jig. no fish...still fun learned alot. everyone said it was a slow day so i dont feel too bad.

can i fish for whites on south side of lake? like half moon bay launch? ( is there a launch) or is sunbreaker the best for whites?

tnx

happy

Roughly how deep was the water and how deep was your worm set?

Not sure if you care, but my friends limited out two weeks ago at Sylvan from shore in two hours on whites. Biggest one was 5 pounds. They used some fancy European balsa wood lures.

Default Sunbreaker

Was out there yesterday (Thur) no one fishing but us, 30 Km wind from south east. Really bad whitecaps, got out to 15 ft of water and fished about 5 ft below the surface........ lots of whites on red wire worm (homemade) couldn’t use the slip bobber just to rough, jigged virticle........ 2 big anchors on 17 ft Lund and we relocated at least a dozen times after being blown in to shore....
Hell of a day but good fishing for those tiny whites........
Sst

Knowing hf, being sarcastic. I got a good laugh. If it ain't on his line, it doesn't matter

Also, I call BS on the 5 lb estimate. It is possible ... but pics or it is just more BSing.

ok was.out today!!! got on lake at 730 am....rowed around for 35 mins...not knowing what to do.....then rowed back to boat launch area....tried WW.....nothing....others were catching....i was getting PI$$ed....then thanks to zip....i decided to try the little yellow twisty tail thing....after 5 mins....i caught a walleye....kinda disappointing as i was going for whites...but hey...its a fish!!!! i would say it was 10 ish....in about 10 FOW. then i caught a white!!!! then another walleye then another.....like 4 walls caught 2 fish got off....i think 1 white and a walleye.

thanks to.zip....deng....and another guy who posted on zip thread.....

yes im.sarcastic and i thought it was funny.

i got my pontoon properly inflated....i had a anchor.....so im better!!!. i think the fish went deeper as the day went on....is this normal? i think one white i caught in 15 FOW....cause i was fishing...and realized my anchor was not on bottom ....so i floated away....thats when i was catching fish too.

others were doing good.flyfishing with flies....and they said it was wierd cause the caught mostly walls too.
when i was rowing in shallows off the point i saw fish in 5 fow at around 930.....

anyway ok day!!! just smoked the white and ate some!!!

happy

Nice!! Glad you got them. They do often go deeper but not too far. If you stay around the drop off that is around most of the shore at Sylvan where it goes from nothing to 8-10, you will catch all day long but heavier in the morning and evening.

Happy .... pleased to read the spot I suggested produced some fish. The next time your in Cdn Tire see if they have any more of these mini Mr. Twister brown/black spots tails and get some 1/32 oz jig heads, Mr. White just inhales them, all year long.

Cheers

David
