Default Whats the dollar value of this bow?

This will be my first bow, as im trying to get into the sport. Rifle hunting is fun and everything, just need a bit more of a challenge!

I know nothing about bows other than what I have read on the internet, a buddy said he has an old bow for sale. It seems like a good deal but I have no clue.

The bow is a PSE XForce. Buddy is not sure on the year it is, but from looking at pictures of other PSE XForce's I would say its a 2008, Just by the holes on the arm (He thinks its a 2010...) He says its 350fps (70lb 28''Draw) Again, I don't know he could be pulling my chain. Everything that is on the bow in the picture comes with it, Drop away rest, 5 pin sight, and active stabilizer arm. He wants $500, if that's what's its worth I have no problem paying that, just considering bows depreciate in value so quickly and this being my first bow purchase, I don't like getting ripped off.

Thanks!!

First make sure that the bow is adjustable to your draw lenth and weight or else it is money wasted.
Second I would get somebody to have a look and make sure it has no evidence of a dry fire.

I think that is a 300 bow Max but I guess it is worth what somebody willing to pay.

Look up the serial number, PSE had a big speed jump from 2008-2009, and if I'm not mistaken again from 2009-2010.

I find it odd your buddy doesn't know what kind of bow he owns, especially if it's only 4-6yrs old. Is it stolen or something?
Probably worth $350-$400.

Just looked it up, it's a 2008 xforce dream season, 332-340 ibo, 33" axle to axle, 7" brace height. I'd say worth around $300-$350, the 2010 cams were much better IMO.

Sight looks like a cobra sidewinder like vintage 2006? With the bow set up I wouldn't pay more than 400.

Thanks for all the information! Now do you think this would be a good starter bow?

You can get a a brand new pse at cabelas with a packaged deal (sights, arrows, rest,) for like 6-7, and they are better then that bow. That's what I would do of it was my first bow.

Likley the best advice anyone could give!
When you buy a package deal from an authorized archery dealer they will set it to your specs and tune-it for you! Big advantage!!
Good luck

I have the same bow since new...6-7 years ago and 62 lbs it does 290' sec. 380 gr arrow. Bows only 6" brace height. I opted to put a string stop on it.
Not a forgiving bow. Any bad shooting technique and it will show down range. As long as you practice lots and can hold it super steady it's fine. That bow will do anything you want it to do. $500 isn't bad if your loaded with a dozen arrows and case.
You'll probably want to check strings and cables too at the cams. They wear hard there cause of the sharp curve. Take that into account in the price.

Good luck

Due to its very short Brace height, extreme relex limbs and being a duel cam ...as mentioned it may not be the most forgiving bow made and draw will feel hard compared to a solo cam...

I would suggest talking the owner into letting you shoot it for a week if he is a freind...and see how it shoots...

Another point is most new have a lifetime warrenty...whereas used is well...used...regardless of how good it looks...

I would buy that bow in a second!!! In fact if you don't want that bow please pass me the # of the person selling it and I will accommodate. Yes that bow is that fast, and that accurate.

Great grab! What are you going to buy it for?

PS. 500$ is to much.

Just saying. I know a little about PSE.
