Another Cold Lake Video Report
Just in case you want see it all again on a different day I thought I'd post my day out with my brother and dad. At the end of the video you can see the Big hammer swim bait I was using that was working really good in the late afternoon.

No Pressure to watch it, I know I've posted a few already.

The ice was probably about 14 inches thick, really clear hard ice. Almost like glas so it is easy to see the fish on the other side when the ice is wet on the top.

Yeah Bigbore, my little brother is now the tallest of all of us at 14 years old. Makes me look like a shrimp. Oh well I still have some weight on him and he can't tackle me yet, haha.

Just an 8 inch hole, fishing on a drop off from 50-100 feet deep.

Looks like a great day of fishing! Nice to be able to catch it on video too, looks like some excellent family time.
Going to be heading out that way this weekend. Did you see any thin ice around, or is the lake pretty uniform?
Smelts all day?

I'm guessing you are refering to the Jaw Jacker. I got it online, didn't see them at the Cabela's when I stopped there. http://www.jawjackerfishing.com/

I'm not sure what you mean by did I see any thin ice? You can't tell how thick ice is when it is covered by snow. The whole lake is ice covered, but I suspect the large open body is thinner than the Frenchman Bay Area where everyone sticks to early in the year. We only drilled holes in one location and drove where others had already driven. I suggest you do the same if worried about this spots. But with this cold and minimal snow on the lake it should be ready to drive all over soon I would guess.
Yeah just tipped with smelts all day. I could tell when my smelt fell off because the fish would come up take a look and then not hit the jig. Kind of needed the smelt.
