Big Pike Videos!!!
My buddie Jason and i decided to try Wabuman lake for the first time and man what a sweet fishery it has turned out to be it took a few hours of drilling holes in different spots but i finally found a good drop off from 4 to 15 feet with good weeds and 2 nice points close by, The first six fish were all around five pounds and then the first big one hit and peeled off about 60 yards of line in 20 sec.lol
Then the next big one smashed the 10 inch sardine just as we were about to pack up i posted a couple of cam coder vids so you all could see how our day went now i know its pretty common to have 1 fifteen pounder during the day but we had 4 monsters in about six hours all from 15 to 19 pounds being the biggest.
cant wait to go back and and do battle again.

There is no way those fish were close to 45".... 15-19lb pike being 45"... I don't think so man, not unless they are the most starved pike on the planet.

I figured with the hiccups there must have been some liquid antifreeze in his system....

Lol i think you forgot the part where i said i never did put a tape to them and that means that i had to guess now since im pretty sure you never put a tape to them either i hardly think you have the authority to call me on that one i have been catching big northerns consistently now for fifteen years i have caught pike that were 40 inches and only 10 lbs and and even caught one that was 38 inches and it weighed only 8 lbs. a big jack can have a full whitefish or walleye in her stomach and weigh 5 lbs more then she should for her size.
So im gonna guess that you are all done with your education but don't forget its never to late to learn somthing if you have nothing nice to say listen to your mom and don't say it!!!
SCHOOL IS OUT.

Not necessarily, I caught a 50 inch pike this summer that weighed 24lb 12oz. This was a skinny fish but definitely not a starving fish. At the same proportions, a 45 inch pike would be just barely over 18lbs, so it's possible.

Were any of the other big pike skinny like the one in the first video? It's kind of odd because I find almost every pike I catch at wabamun that's over 36 inches are healthy and have an above average girth.

Well the big ones i caught were very well fed fat and heavy but the smaller ones were very thin and long with and there heads looked disproportion to the rest of there body which is a clear sign of not getting enough to eat i think what is happening is the big pike are feeding on everything including smaller pike but the smaller pike cant keep up and because they aren't big enough to handle whitefish just yet the competition is too stiff i would bet my paycheck wabuman turns out to be a pretty sweet trophy pike fishery very soon if not already where the average size is over 5 lbs and the only time you will ever see smaller pike is early summer before the fingerlings get eaten up.
