Default CCI rimfire ammo?

Has anyone ever used either CCI Velociter or Stingers in a 10/22? I'm experimenting, trying to find the most accurate rounds I can. Thanks for the help.

My 10/22 like american eagle LR hollow points, i have shot stingers out of it but didn't notice any difference in accuracy but they really do a number on the gophers.

Says in the book that comes with the 10-22 not to use Stingers. Stingers have a case that is just a touch longer than regular shells and can cause issues,

You can use them just fine in a regular 10/22. This warning is regarding the 10/22 target models, and similarly, if you have an aftermarket target barrel, it would be wise to avoid them as well.

Now, when my 10/22 had the stock sporter barrel, I didn't notice any spectacular accuracy from the Stingers, but every gun is different. Now that I have a target barrel on it, I don't use them anymore.

I use the Velociters in my Brno and I have found that they are very consistent from box to box.

Default Stingers

I like the speed but never found them as accurate as the vipers.

I guess guns are different.

My 455 American likes the stinger. Can put 3 shoot groups at 50yd into same hole. Too bad it doesn't like the Blazers which are 1/4 the cost. +1 on only way to know to try it.

Default Velociters vs Stingers

In my Remington 597, Velociters shoot best but are hard to find. 2nd choice is Stingers because of availability. 597 hates Yellow Jackets, go figure!?!

I usually only use my .22 to shoot gophers and I usually use Stingers. They're not the most accurate bullet I've used, but the accuracy is acceptable for a stock 10/22.

I find the Stingers shoot great out of my .22. Good accuracy, tear apart the ground hogs

Stingers are awful in a 10/22 T. All over the place. ( Maybe Barnes makes them )

Default CCI rimfire ammo

Thanks for the replies. I tried a bunch of different loads, and the best for me turned out to be Remington Golden Bullet. They're cheaper than the CCI's and group great. Look out gophers!

I shot 2 boxes of stingers through my 10/22 one afternoon. That evening when I was cleaning it, i noticed that as a result of the hotter rounds, the hammer had peened a groove into the back of the action. That was just 100 rounds... imagine what damage could be done to your rifle shooting stingers on a regular basis??

Stick with good high velocity ammo in the 10/22. Stay away from the Hypervelocity stuff!!

I watched an episode on Shooting USA where they toured the CCI factory.

Apparently CCI makes all rimfire ammunition for all the different brands. They load them and stamp them to the other brands specs. ie. Remington.

I have found they shoot well out of my .22 mag

For some brands yes, but not for all brands. CCI does not make Lapua or Eley loads, as well as others.

They have always recommended against stingers in 10/22's......this is likely why.....

I had a camo ruger 10/22 that shot super tight with CCI Stingers........ I have yet to try them in either of my Savage Mark II 22lr's... But I hope they will

I always liked the CCI Quik-Shok, which was a stinger with a pre-scored segment bullet. That was until I traded in the 10/22 for a Savage 17hmr thumb hole heavy barrel and never looked back.

golden bullets are devasting to gophers , I've had better luck with velociters when it comes to cci stamped stuff compared to stingers . I found the mini mag not as good as either stingers or velociters , for killing anyways. If the goldens shoot good for you I think you'll be happy with killing power , least I was
