Default Kitty cat ID help

My FIL took this pic on his phone in the back yard. He says bobcat. I say lynx. Need some help to end the debate lol. Pic was taken in the Boyle area.

Bobcat From my Opinion. Im pretty sure lynx have longer legs and taller stance. Plus from the picture quality the ears are rounder than a lynx which typically have pointed ears with longer hairs at end.

Default kitty

I believe this is a lynx. It's taller than a bobcat, the pic isn't the clearest but the ears do peak fairly well also.

Lynx....from what I understand bobcats do not range as far North as Boyle...I saw a lynx on the shores of Little MacLeod lake two weeks ago.

Thanks for the replies guys. I said lynx based on the height and I didn't think we had bobcats around here.

So Lynx are the bigger of the two? Always get them mixed up. Nice visitor.

I would agree with lynx, based on location and color/pattern.

For those who think there are no bobcats north of Boyle, I saw one at 60 feet north of Peace River.

Saw a bobcat crossing the Alpac connector 2 weeks ago! They are this far north, apparently.
But I think that is a Lynx. Pretty grey looking.

Lynx

But I know of reports of bobcats across northern alberta. Just because they aren't prominant doesn't mean they are not there.
Here are some photos of Lynx from my trail cams to compare. From my experience (which isn't much) the younger lynx tend to have more rounded ears
