So I figure I'll see if this goes any better for March. The next meet will be Friday March 5th at BP's Avenida at 8 pm. I am thinking of moving this thread to the General Discussion (starting a new one), and making it Calgary Hunting and Fishing get together. We've been snobs for too long now..

Any thoughts? Who thinks they'll make March 5th?

I've suggested it before - can it be put in the calendar? Some forums make better use of that.

The 5th is my wife's 30th. I'm not the smartest guy but I think I'll tryto make the next one.

there is a great pub called tops off of mcknight and 4th steet sort of its a great pub and the owner is good **** and likes to hunt.can meet up there anytime for a beer

Well the end is near! Of the drilling season that is, break-up is here for us guys working around Calgary. Its been a pretty long winter, so I could use a beer and BS about some hunting!

I will try and make it the night of the 5th!

This Tops place sounds interesting!!

It has a private room, giant 60 inch t.v's everywhere. Tops Pizza and Sports Bar, 5602 4th St N.W, 403.275.2722, and the owner said no problem to wild t.v on the tube.

March 5th meet will be at BP's Avenida and we'll see how the turnout is. If we get a good turnout, I'd be up for having it at Top's Pizza for the next one in April. Is Top's a fairly quiet pub where you can have a conversation? Also, being that these are on Fridays, is there generally enough space for a large group?

As for the comment about adding this to the calendar, I will try and figure out how to do it...

Tops can get busy on a friday, but they have a large private room, that holds up to 40-50 people, the private room is only seperated by a plexiglass garadge door. The staff are awesome and the food is amazing.There already is a large consortment of hunters that frequent Tops.

Just wanted to get an idea of how many will be making an appearance tonight at BP's? It will be at 8 PM BP's Avenida. I've added it to the calendar, but I have no idea if the calendar sends out reminders or anything.

For April, if we move this to Tops, does anyone have an in with the owner? I'm wondering if we could get the private room for the first Friday of each month?

Well I plan on being there, unless the phone rings and I have to head to the field, I hope I have not just jinxed myself.

Just a thought on next month... The first Friday is Good Friday, dont know how that will effect turn-out? Oh and tops sounds like it is worth checking out.

FAF, good point about Good Friday. Maybe we'll just bump it to the 9th of April. We can talk about the next one tonight. Camo is a great way for us to recognize each other.......except for when I walked into Halo restaurant awhile back

....got a few looks. That was when I originally made the meeting for the Bull and Finch on Macleod Trail.....that apparantly hadn't been there for two years

. I guess a few guys were ticked as they drove around all night looking for the non-exsistent Bull and Finch. Still feel bad about that one.

I am from Langdon and origianally planned on attending but looked at a pile of 6 coyotes that have to be skinned so suspect between coyotes and hockey game I will be busy. Good to know there are a few of us in the area for next time.

It wouldn't be a problem for the private room, we just need to have a time and a approximate number of people. If the group is big enough we should be able to get some deals on beer too

Well the 4 of us that were there last Friday were talking about checking out TOPS which sounds good to me. I plan on being there next month, hopefully we can get a decent sized group together.
